Snapfish Online Photo Processing Review:

Once you have setup your account with Snapfish, your ready to start uploading pictures to print or sharing with your friends and family.

There are two different methods of getting your photos ordered and getting them on Snapfish for sharing.

  • If you still use film, you can request a mailer for mailing your film.
  • You can upload your digital photos and share with anyone you like and order prints.

Ordering Prints Online from Snapfish.

Select the photos from your hard drive or storage device and upload to Snapfish.

Next, view the album you just created. Here you have specialty options for ordering calendars, cards, photo books, CDs, and more. If you happen to have a Flickr account you can import your photos into your account.

As with the other photo processing services we reviewed, the default print sizes are 4 x 6 printed on glossy photo paper. You are also able to edit your pictures by adding borders, captions, removing red eye, cropping, and tinting your pictures to black and white, sepia, and more.

New Feature for Snapfish

A new feature Snapfish has is for creating a Free Snapshow for enjoying your photos and sharing with others.

With Snapshow you can choose from various themes using animation and music. If you already have a Snapfish account and have other photo albums, you are able to add photos from multiple albums.

The slideshow can be personalized with titles and captions and there is no software to download. Just save it to your projects and share.

When you are ready to place your order, select the pictures you want, the size photo you want, the paper type, and "check out".

Fill in your shipping address and select the shipping method you want (we choose the 3 - 5 day shipping method) or you can choose from various locations to pick up your printed photos. The store locations for pick up are:

  • Long Drugs
  • Walgreens
  • BiLo
  • Miejer
  • Walmart
  • Duanereade

If you choose to have them shipped, fill in all required information then review your order. If you are satisfied click the "buy now" button, print your receipt, and your done.

Pros.

Snapfish offers a 110% quality guarantee. For us a huge thing Snapfish didn't do was to have a pop-up window offering specials after clicking the "check out" button.

The checkout process was fast; but we only wanted a 4 x 6 of each print. As with the other sites each individual picture is shown with the size you ordered. If you want to have additional prints of some photos the process will take just a little longer as you will need to go through the photos and add the additional sizes you want.

I like that they processed film and I'm glad they still offer the service and Snapfish had a convenient service for you to be able to pick up your photos from one of the stores listed above.

As with most photo processing services you usually get a special offer on your first order and Snapfish was no different. We basically paid for shipping, not bad.

Cons.

We thought the upload service was just a little slower than a couple of the other services we used, but not by any significant margin.

When we received our photos they all looked good and they were printed on Kodak paper (which I like the Kodak photo paper line), but the paper felt like it was a bit thinner then the other photo processing services we tried.

Snapfish Online Service Results.

We placed our online order with Snapfish using the shipping method of 3 - 5 days. We immediately received an email of our order confirmation.

Even with the Christmas holiday here, our order was shipped within the 3 - 5 day time frame. The packaging was good and clearly marked "Photos" and no damage to the photos. We were happy with the way they turned out, nice color and clear prints.
